1) Lazy Saturday Mornings

I LOVE Saturday mornings where I can sleep in and just lounge around in bed (yes, this is a luxury I enjoy, which does not happen often enough). I'll have my coffee in bed and watch Youtube videos, research fun makeup and skincare products, and catch up on my favorite blogs...all while in my comfy pajamas :)

2) Comfortable Sleepwear

Comfy knit jersey dresses are perfect to lounge around the house and sleep in. They're also the most comfortable attire when working from home. I love the affordable ones from Target

3) My Sister

And her amazing travels. I am just loving her life! She took some time off work to travel the world. Her most recent adventure was visiting an elephant sanctuary in Thailand. She is truly living and loving life. Plus, look at those elephant kisses...so, so cute! She inspires me to bravely do what I love with her fearless attitude towards life.

4) Green smoothies

This delicious smoothie includes my vanilla protein powder, collagen powder, frozen greens (spinach, kale, etc.), frozen bananas, berries, pineapple, and peaches. This is the best way for me to take in my veggies and fruits :) I'm currently sipping on this smoothie while I research a possible career change.

5) New Blogger

I just discovered this sweet, Jesus-loving girl on Instagram! I've read through some of her posts and she is just so encouraging. I highly recommend checking out her blog for some positivity and sweetness :)

I cannot believe July is already over and tomorrow we welcome August. Hope you are having a relaxing and blessed weekend! xo

Day Dreaming

A small but beautiful collection of my flower crowns. I'm so inspired by them and day dreaming of such lovely things.

The pretty pink flower crowns were beautifully made by Rouge Pony and the crown with purple flowers and peach roses was made by yours truly :)

This past week I was loving...

1) Walks in Nature

With all my free time before my new job, I spent most of it outside, taking lovely hikes in nature. These are some vibrant California poppies that I came across while hiking to Alamere Falls.

2) Roses

Fresh flowers are always welcome in my home :)

3) Pedicure

Believe me, a pedicure was needed for my poor toes. This is Essie's Jump in my Jumpsuit.

4) Church

Recharging with the Lord at church. Church has always given me so much encouragement. I truly need to carve out time for small group. I've had the strongest urge to fellowship and connect with others.

5) Staying Hydrated

Brought out my pink heart printed BKR water bottle to stay hydrated over the weekend. It's been so warm here lately and I'm loving it!

Hope you have a blessed week! xo

Eye Brightening

Eye Brighteners

1) Amazing Cosmetics Amazing Concealer Illuminate
2) Bobbi Brown Corrector
3) Lancome Miracle CC Cushion - Color Correcting Primer
4) GIORGIO ARMANI Master Corrector

I've coasted through life without having to wear under eye concealer. I prided myself in that I didn't have to fuss around with under eye cover ups while my sister (she's going to hate that I'm sharing this) struggled with covering up her dark circles and puffiness. But now as I age...yes, now that I'm in my early thirties, I can't deny it anymore. With the stress of work and lack of sleep, I look haggard. Under the dull florescent bathroom lights at work, my under eye puffiness and darkness is emphasized even more!

I've been mulling over a few eye brightener options.

Have you tried any of these? Do you have other recommendations? I'll need to make a trip to Sephora very soon! Happy Friday!

Korean Makeup

I'm a bit partial to Korean makeup since I am Korean. Korean women are obsessed with skincare, beauty, and makeup...it's in our blood. I was so excited when I stumbled upon this site that sells Korean makeup and other products. I've ordered some items including the Rosy Tint Lips from Etude House, some face powder, and a blemish treatment. I enjoyed them all but especially loved the lip product and will be ordering more from the site. The texture was like velvet and the staying power was quite impressive.

I really want to try their sunscreens/ BB creams and see how they compare to US sunscreens. However, I'm not sure I'm ready to try their snail serums. I've heard amazing things about snail extract for the skin and Korean women love it, but I'm not sure I'm as committed as they are in Korea.

In case you're just as obsessed with Korean makeup as I am, this is a great way to order . Enjoy!

By the way, isn't she gorgeous? Check out Pony's instagram for more photos and watch her Youtube videos for tons of makeup inspirations and amazing transformations (her real name is Hye Min Park).

I'm currently loving...

1) Fresh Flowers

And a clean apartment. I L-O-V-E a clean home! Clutter and mess stress me out. I can't wait for more blossoms to bloom to have the scent invade my space.

2) Clearer Skin

Using my AHA+ on a consistent basis is making my acne scars fade much faster! My skin is far from perfect...I still have so many acne scars from the past and some breakouts now, but I always notice significant improvement when I use AHA+ :) I like this version because it also includes licorice root that helps to calm inflammation.

3) Sleep

The past couple of months have been so hectic with the new job. I'm able to get some much needed rest over the weekend. Just looking at my shabby chic bedding makes me so happy and less stressed.

4) Quality Time with the Lord

During the week, I don't spend as much time as I need in prayer and devotion. Weekends are great for not only catching up on sleep, but for recharging with the Lord...the best.

Desperately praying that the Lord brings comfort, healing, and peace during these evil and tumultuous times in this world. There is so much sadness, but Jesus brings his compassion and love to all. Continue to have hope, faith, and love.

I hope you have a blessed week! xoxo

Bridesmaid Dresses // Hayley Paige

My friend said yes to the dress today! After a few bridal shopping sessions over the past couple of months, she finally found the one :) We all knew immediately as soon as she walked out in the dress - this was the one. I can't wait for her wedding next fall!

Next up are bridesmaid dresses. We've found a few styles that caught our eye from Hayley Paige. They're so beautiful, romantic, and affordable. Hayley Paige has some intricate back work that is stunning!

Currently Wishing

Currently Wishing

My current wish list this Friday.

I'm drooling over these Frye boots. They're such a classic look and would go with everything.

I've owned a pair of Tory Burch Reva Ballet flats but they killed my feet. My poor pinky toes could not stand the Reva flats, so I sold them on Poshmark. I've read so many reviews on these 'Minnie' Travel Ballet flats and they sound so comfortable! I'll need to make a trip to Nordstrom to try them out.

While we're on the topic of Tory Burch, I'm also lusting after these Miller sandals! These are so classic and look great with jeans or with a cute sundress.

Also, on my list are a fun pair of blue mirrored sunnies. It's so hard to find a perfect pair that fit my face. I've tried the Illesteva Mirrored Leonard sunglasses, but they didn't fit properly and seemed really small on my face...just a strange look. But the sunglasses themselves were beautiful! I love the look of tortoise shell frames with blue mirrored lenses. I'm currently on the hunt and open to any and all suggestions!

Hope you have a beautiful and blessed weekend! My Saturday will be spent wedding dress shopping with my friend, the bride-to-be. Hope she can say yes to the dress very soon! xo

My Guilty Pleasure // Duck Dynasty

I'm so excited Duck Dynasty is back on! They're on their 10th season now...so crazy!

I have many TV guilty pleasures and Duck Dynasty is one of them. No one but my family knows how much I love this show. I still remember when I watched my first episode many years ago. It was Christmas evening and my sister, brother, and I had just finished Christmas dinner and were lounging around watching TV. Nothing was really on except for marathons of the Dog Whisperer (which we had already watched all episodes). My sister landed on the A&E channel and they were airing a marathon of Duck Dynasty. For some reason my sister didn't change the channel and we were soon mesmerized by the show and laughing so hard till our stomaches hurt. My sister and I still tease each other about how much we enjoy watching the show. It's hard to choose a favorite character, but Uncle Si ranks high up there. The entire family is so cute, have great morals, and I love how they always end each episode with a prayer.

They encourage adoption, love, and forgiveness. Their family looks so fun!

Mia is also a favorite. I cried watching the episode with Mia's surgery. She's such a brave little girl. Anyway, I could go on and on about each of the family members!

Beauty Review: Drunk Elephant

I was so excited to purchase and receive this high non nano zinc oxide (20%!) face sunscreen. It even has such cute packaging and for quality face sunscreen (looking at the great ingredient list), it's incredibly affordable compared to some others on the market. However, Drunk Elephant Umbra Sheer Physical Defense Protect + Preserve SPF 30 (wow what a mouthful) was such a disappointment for two main reasons. One reason that many reviewers lamented over, which I was hoping I could fix by sheering out with my face oil, didn't work.

1) Pilling, rolling, peeling, etc. I've run into this issue with several zinc oxide sunscreens and even though many reviewers complained about this problem, I was hoping I could overcome it with my face oils. Nope. As soon as the zinc starts drying, and if you touch your face at all, you'll leave a trail of white lint coming off your face. Real attractive.
2) The scent. How come not one of the reviews I read touched on the offensive smell of the sunscreen? I never thought I was that sensitive to smells, but I guess if it's straight up on your face and directly underneath your nose, any type of smell would irritate. To me this smells musty. Gross. Yes, after 8 hours of wear, the smell finally fades away but that's 8 hours later! No, thank you.

A few other things worth mentioning:
  • Some people complained about the glitter. I didn't notice much glitter, although there was some. Personally, I love shimmer, so the slight glitter didn't bother me, but something to keep in mind.
  • This sunscreen felt uncomfortable on my face. No, I didn't breakout, although I only wore it for two days, so who knows if it would have irritated my skin enough to cause breakouts. The sunscreen itself felt scratchy on my face. The texture was a bit grainy, not smooth.  At the end of the day, when I washed it off, my face felt very sensitive. I wouldn't recommend to those with sensitive skin.
It retails $38 at Sephora and back it goes. I was also considering this Tatcha sunscreen - have you tried?

Did Drunk Elephant Umbra Sheer Physical Defense work for you? Are there any other Drunk Elephant products I should try? Haha, so many questions, I know!

Happy Weekend

Work has been so ridiculously busy, so I've been cherishing any down time I can get during the weekend. This is one weekend where I won't have to work too much (i.e. less than 2 hours) and have no real plans or obligations. THE BEST. Today, I took a beautiful walk outside in my parents' neighborhood. So much beauty.

Weekend checklist:
Sleep in
Clean + laundry
Spend time with family + friends
Relaxing, breezy walks out in nature
Healthy meals

Gorgeous white flowers from my walk today. It was the perfect summer afternoon with a light breeze to match.

In an effort to be healthier, I ate a salad! If you know me, I have a huge aversion to anything healthy...especially vegetables. This salad was made a bit more appetizing with some guacamole and basil. Yum.

So excited to try this new sunscreen purchased from Sephora. I am a zinc oxide sunscreen junkie and this is the highest zinc oxide I've seen for the face. I'm hoping Drunk Elephant answers my prayers for the perfect mineral sunscreen.

Sunday will be church with a friend...and a little work. Hopefully, more rest than work!

Hope you are having a relaxing and fun weekend! And I hope you're enjoying the new blog format! xoxo
